Zen Teachings

A Zen Teacher saw five of his students return from the market, riding their bicycles. When they had dismounted, the teacher asked the students, "Why are you riding your bicycles?"

The first student replied, "The bicycle is carrying this sack of potatoes. I am glad that I do not have to carry them on my back!" The teacher praised the student, saying, "You are a smart boy. When you grow old, you will not walk hunched over, as I do."

Ride our Paris Tribute

Ride to honor the heros of Paris-Roubaix - happening that same day.

25 mile ride on paved and dirt roads -a spirited ride, with a sprint for the finish by the strongest riders at the end. A challenging early season route - check out the route here - connect.garmin.com/activity/29713073

Ride starts at 9 AM as the parking lot across from the Searsmont Post Office - some riders ride to the ride from Belfast or Camden/Lincolnville - check emails to see if anyone is planning this.

Possible gathering at Rollie's in Belfast after the ride to watch the race on the big screen.

Get Your Kids in Too

Attention parents with children age 10+. I'm thinking of organizing a junior road bike club/race team for 2011.

At this point I'm trying to get a feel for the appetite for a junior bike club. If you have a son or daughter who is interested in joining an organized club for cycling and possibly racing, let me know.

With enough interest, I'll work to organize a meeting/info session. Thanks - Greg
