Leopold Konig Hopeful Of Doing Well In This Year’s Giro d’Italia

Every Grand Tour in which Leopold Konig took part, the 27 years old professional cyclist who rides for the British team Sky has always been among the top ten riders to finish. Konig will take part in this year’s Giro d’Italia.

For the first time in his professional career, Konig will be participating in Giro d’Italia. He is hopeful of doing better in this race than he did in any other Grand Tour race in his professional career. Giro d’Italia will be held this year in the month of May.

It is likely that the leadership of his team will be shared between him and the 30 years old Australian professional Cyclist, Richie Porte. In last year’s Tour de France, Konig became the winner of the 7th place in the overall category and he thinks that he can do better than that in this year’s Giro d’Italia.

Konig said that in the past he became the winner of seventh and the ninth place in 2014 Tour de France and 2013 Vuelta a Espana respectively and thus it can be expected that he will be among the first five riders to finish in this year’s Giro d’Italia or it is also likely that he will be able to accomplish a podium finish in that race. Konig also indicated that nothing would please him more if he manages to become the overall winner of this race or even become the winner of second place in overall category.’

Konig said that he is not at all willing to pressurize himself rather he would like to enjoy riding in this race. Konig was all set to participate in the first Grand Tour of his professional career in 2012 but that could not happen as he was ill. He participated in the first Grand Tour of his professional career in 2013.
